The Raptor Moves!

September 19th, 2006

So I finally got around to some forward flight yesterday with the raptor. I found myself at the point that I was less nervous and having more fun, so I was kicking around in some figure eights, and a couple of stall turns. Nothing earth shattering, but a major step in the learning curve.

The Ultra-Stick Flies!

September 8th, 2006

My maiden flight of the Ultra-Stick was successfull.  It was actually last weekend, but work has been nutz all week, and anyone who works a production-output job knows, that pretty much kills any free time you have.  Other than some issues getting my Saito .91 running smooth (the biggest of which ended up being a pinhole in the pressure line) it flew beautiful.  A completly uneventfull maiden, just the way I like it.  Even messed with the Crow Flaps a bit…definitely interesting but I can see some cool stuff going on…not quite 3D, but some really high alpha flight.

I’m trying to hook another person into the adiction…or hobby, whatever you feel the need to call it. Matt is headed out there with me this weekend, I’m gonna let him buddy-box the Nexstar and Maybe even the stick. (Hes not even looking at my Rappy though!!!)

Last weekend I went through 2 gallons of fuel…most of which was my 4-Stroke 15% … so about $30 bucks…considering how much money I would spend all weekend if I were trying to do something else to keep myself busy, not a bad deal.

It sounds like a mad mosquito.

Raptor 30

So, part of this blog will be my ramblings about how much I love to fly RC. Expensive, maybe…rewarding, mostly…worth it, totally. I’ve always had a fascination with RC vehicles, in the air, on the ground, on water…whatever.Right now, the love of my RC life is my Raptor 30. Are there better helis? Most definitely. Is there a better value for your first heli, I think not. If you actually find yourself reading this blog, be it for my hobbies, my work, or my random ramblings, you will get to know my rappy. Ask anyone I interact with on a daily basis, they will tell you that I talk about it way too much, but oh well.

This last weekend, we had our first mishap. Nothing too serious, $60 worth of parts and I’m back in the air. Video to come soon.

Later for now.
